Task 2
{% endblock %} {% block content %}

For task 2 you will be randomly paired with a partner (one of the participants in this session, but you will not be told who she/he is), and you two will work as a group anonymously. Four groups in total will be formed in this section. As in Task 1 each group will be given 5 minutes to solve a similar set of problems. The total number of correct answers from the two group members will be the final number of correct answers of the group.

The final payment of each group in this task will be equally split between the two group members.

Your payment in this task will also depend on your choice of payment scheme – piece rate or tournament.

If you choose piece rate , your group will be paid in the same way as Task 1: 4 cents per problem your group solves correctly, which is equally divided into 2 cents for each group member.

If you choose tournament: your group will be paid based on the performance of your group relative to that of the other three groups, regardless the payment scheme chosen by them. For instance, if the number of problems solved correctly in your group is the highest among all the four groups, your group will receive 16 cents per correct answer, four times the payment from the piece rate, otherwise your group will receive no payment for this task. If there are ties, all these winner groups will receive 16 cents per correct answer.

The choice and answers that you and your partner made will keep anonymous. You will not be informed of the corresponding payment of your group in this task until the end of the experiment.
